A Year of Firsts

2009 provided a lot of Firsts for The Stone Family. We will miss 2009 but we are looking forward to an even more excited and eventful 2010!This year was our First New Years Eve together! We had the opportunity to plan and attend a Youth Tri-Stake New Years Dance. We rang in the new year with about 200 youth popping balloons like crazy trying to find the free gift cards hidden inside. In February we went on our first snowboarding adventure as a married couple. While this has been an annual family trip, this would be Daniel's First time snowboarding. I passed on the opportunity to snowboard and went sledding with Collin and Emma. However, after about 5 times down the sledding hill Dad received a distress call from ski resort.

Yes, Daniel was rescued for the first time, and hopefully last, by the Red Cross and hauled off the hill in a rickety sled carried by a woman half his size. That was Daniel's first run down the hill and his last of the trip. We had a blast even though he had a very swollen ankle. I know he is looking forward to another trip in 2010.

Daniel celebrated his First Birthday as a married man! He turned 27!!! How did we get so OLD!

In March we took our First trip to Disneyland during 2009. While it was our only trip to Disneyland this year, it was not our only trip to California during 2009. We went with Justin, Shelly, and Rob. It was a blast and we already have plans in the works for a trip in 2010, if we can get free tickets.
In April we experienced the grid of the end of the school year for the First time. I constantly found Daniel asleep with books, homework, etc. in front of him. I was grinding through the end of a long year in First Grade. We survived and made it to May!

Justin graduated from High School and for the first time in 10 years there were no Larimore kids in High School! Crazy!!
We bought our First Vehicle, that was not already owned by one of us, as a married couple. We also sold, practically gave away, Daniel's old vehicle. It will only be in the family for a little while, but it was fun searching together for a car. I know Daniel was sad to say goodbye to the good old Pink Salmon, but little red is a HUGE upgrade from the Pink Salmon.

In June Daniel did his First Summer of full time work and Summer School. We celebrated our First Anniversary with a short weekend get away! We also taught swimming lessons together for the first time for Collin and Emma. We had a blast! In July we went to the Mountains, with the Larimore clan, for the 4th of July and stayed in a Cabin rather than camping, for the first time. We love the mountains.
In August we took our First trip to San Diego as a couple with the Larimore clan. It was our second trip to California during 2009.

We were able to go to the San Diego temple for the first time! Words cannot describe the beauty of that temple!

We attended our first Broadway Musical "Wicked"! It was amazing!
Daniel started school again in August and we started to get back to normal. Then I get the call that Daniel has injured himself at work. He burned his hand pretty badly. We had to wrap it like this for a few weeks. I am grateful that everything turned out and everything healed well.

In September my parents started to build their new house. We are excited for them!!! They deserve it!
In October Daniel was accepted into Eller for Accounting and MIS! Daniel is so excited to start his First semester in the college starting in January of 2010!

In November and December we spent time with family and survived Finals!

As we move into 2010 we look forward to many more firsts! We will be attending our first concerts as a couple: Carrie Underwood and Micheal Buble! Who knows what else the year will bring! We are anxious and excited for new adventures in 2010!

We wish you a wonderful and prosperous new year full of happiness and joy!

What a great year of first. You both have accomplished a lot during your first year together. We love you both and hope that the 2nd year is as great as the first.
